Going on a diet and losing weight can be an extremely frustrating task. In reality it is not always as easy as just going on a diet and exercising. Weight can come off very slowly and in some cases not at all even if youre doing everything right. So what is it that you are doing wrong? Well it isnt you, its your body. Your body reacts against you and fights to keep the store of fat in your body; the metabolism slows down to stop you from losing weight.

However, there is hope. Armed with a little information and a lot of willpower, there are things you can do that will once again jumpstart your weight loss plan and start burning calories in an effective, efficient way. Here, then, is the best path to burning more calories at a quicker pace.

Become a tea drinker–specifically green tea. If you’ll drink three glasses of it a day, you’ll find that it will work to keep your metabolism high so that you can keep burning more calories. It does this because of all the caffeine it contains as well as other natural chemicals that also assist your metabolism.

Make sure your exercise routine never becomes–well, routine. Change things up on a regular basis. This means change the time of day you exercise and do different types of exercises. Here’s why. When you stay stuck in the same patterns all the time, your body becomes accustomed to it and will develop defense mechanisms that will prevent weight loss. When you change things up regularly, it doesn’t have time to adapt, and weight loss happens at a faster and higher rate.

Without adding any more time to your workout schedule, add to its intensity. Throw a couple more weights on the barbell or add more resistance to whatever exercises you’re doing. If you’re creative, there are any number of ways to make your workout more intense without lengthening the time.

This may sound silly to most people, but it really does work! Get fidgeting! The more you fidget the more calories you burn. Tap your fingers, click your fingers, tap your legs; whatever you decide to do its a great and easy way to lose some extra weight.

Eat a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet. Starving yourself will not make you think; it will only make you ill. Your metabolism will slow down to a complete halt and you will stop losing any weight.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids and water throughout the day. Experts recommend that you intake at least 5 bottles of water per day. If you increase this amount by just one bottle, your metabolism goes much faster. Then this makes you lose weight and burn calories quicker.

Get out and enjoy the sun! Some people get caught in the rut of staying in the gym. Instead, spend some time walking or running outside in the fresh air. Research shows that people stick with their exercise program longer when a significant portion of it is done outside.

So now, armed with these suggestions for how to burn more calories at a faster pace, it’s up to you what you do with this information. If you’ll put it to use, in no time at all, you’ll be the more fit person that you desire to be.
